Watch Alicia Keys Give an Emotional Tribute to Her Mother During VH1's 'Dear Mama'

Moms, man. They're the best!

Alicia Keys loves her mama and frankly, we love her, too.

Keys, who just released a new song called "In Common," is one of the special performers at VH1's first-ever "Dear Mama" event, which aired Sunday (May 8). For "Dear Mama," Keys gave a touching tribute to her mother, Terria Joseph, tailoring the lyrics to her hit "If I Ain't Got You" just for her mom.

Keys also spoke on how Joseph encouraged her to pursue music, equipping her with both a piano and the space with which to practice. And thank God she did because we now have hits like "No One," "Fallin'" and "Girl on Fire" to listen to for all of eternity.
