'True Blood' WTF: Who Died? And What Died On Alcide's Head?

I don't know if I'm ready to talk about what just happened on the season finale of True Blood. I do know that I don't necessarily believe that what happened is what it appears to be. Sookie herself said, "It's not what you think." Anyway, take this moment to marvel at Joe Manganiello's terrible wig (which thankfully gave way to a foxy haircut later on), and try out his new nickname --- Bright Eyes! --- before we delve into the more serious ish of the episode.

Hmmm, what is he reading? Nope. Still not ready to talk about it.

Instead, I can say that this brutal scene was as hard to watch as any other I've ever seen on the show. It was just too real --- fairy setting aside. Ugh. Warlow, you can rot. Loved, loved, loved Jason leading the charge to save Sookie though. Everything good happens when Jason leads the charge to anything.

Nice legs! Nope. Can't do it. Maybe instead ...

... we can mention this ridic getup Tara was wearing? Or how gross it was to watch her drink from her mom? That was some serious wtf. Are you ready yet?

Just one more sec. I always wanted there to be a Walking Dead/ True Blood crossover episode! Somebody get Glen! OK, no more stalling...

WTF?!?!?!? (Sorry, I went for the faraway shot. Full frontal is not sexy when the frontal is on fire.)

Not just the fact that yes, the rumors were true, and it was Eric who died. But also, like this? Not at the hands of an enemy, protecting Sookie, saving Pam, or all of vampire-kind? F-ing sunbathing?

But guys, just remember: Bill died at the end of season 5. I'm taking a stand here. Or I'm in denial. Even if Eric's compulsion against Alcide romancing Sookie has miraculously disappeared. He could have somehow buried himself in the snow after this conflagration. We saw Bill on fire and survive before too. Or, well. Yeah. He probably knew his time in the sun couldn't last forever but that his grief over Nora would. So he was just biding his time until he could make a Godric-like exit from the world. If it didn't happen, this is a cruel, cruel joke to play on us. I don't know. I do know that I don't like it one bit.
