Exclusive: The 'Straight Outta Compton' Cast Confirms Why You Need This Movie in Your Life

The actors tell us what makes the N.W.A. biopic so authentic and explain how the group's rebellious nature still affects society.

We don't think you need any convincing to see the N.W.A. biopic Straight Outta Compton, co-produced by original members Dr. Dre. and Ice Cube, out tomorrow. But actors Jason Mitchell (who plays the late Eazy-E in the film) and Corey Hawkins (Dr. Dre) told VH1 about their process of taking on the story, and it will do nothing but make you feel completely pumped to see it.

The two tell us about the "blood, sweat, and tears" they put into the movie, directed by the "genius" F. Gary Grey. You can see them light up when talking about working with members of the iconic hip-hop group, making the movie as authentic as possible, and capturing the social climate of LA at the time: "N.W.A., they were the epitome of speech."
