Karlie Redd Denies Sleeping With Scrapp But Sent Pictures of Herself to Him in Prison, Says Tiarra Betrayed Her After the Reunion

"We did massages and what happened next he made it seem like we had sex but we never had sex."

Karlie Redd is the OG of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta and she always keeps it funky and, usually, messy. VH1.com chatted with the reality star after the reunion wrapped to find out about the current state of her relationships with Scrapp, Lyfe Jennings, and Joseline Hernandez. In typical Karlie style, she spilled tons of good stuff about Tiarra, Tommie, sending pictures to Scrapp in prison, and her daughter Jasmine.

It was a different type of reunion this year, how did that feel to you?

Karlie Redd: It was fun you know. Reunions are always fun [because] you get to dress up and you're looking pretty but I like the audience's reaction, you know? I like it when they pump me up and you know when the audience is like, "Yeah, Karlie, go!" It just gives you hype to go in more, so I was missing that.

Were you sad to not be with the other girls and to get to interact with them?

I was sad. It was because there was a lot of things that I wanted to say to the other girls on the show or whatever but I didn’t get a chance. You’re waiting after all this time [to say,] "Oh, I see you coming for me on Instagram and I got some things to say to you when I see you." I do say what I say on Instagram, but I wanna see you in person and say what I gotta [say] to you to your face. I miss that part. There’s a lot of chitter chatter on social media and there was a few people that I wanted to address.

Like who in particular?

I wanted to address Tommie, for sure, because she was bumping her gums and doing way too much on social media and I’m too grown for that. I’m too grown to be bumping my gums on social media. Meet me in my face and let’s bump our gums together.

Have you and Tommie had any opportunity to squash any of that beef?

No, I haven’t seen her and I don’t speak to her. I don’t have her number. Tiarra and I have each other’s numbers so we called each other [and] had a conversation so when we saw each other at the reunion it was like, actually, I still got some beef with Tiarra which I’m not gonna expose right now. She did something else afterwards.

After the reunion taped?

Yes, she did a low blow. She did a real low blow. You know, I'm about my business so you don’t come for my business. You could do whatever you want but don’t come for my business.

Well, what did she do?

I can’t. I’ma hold it, I’ma hold it, but the fact that she was pregnant and she’s getting married, or something like that, with her eighth child, I felt bad. I was like, I’m not even gonna bring this up right now so I’ll let you have your moment of glory and embrace your new relationship and bask in the ambience of pregnancy.

A lot happened for her since filming ended?

That’s why I felt sympathy and was like, "You’re doing a lot, so I’m just gonna hush my mouth and be a good girl and be a nice one."

Do you feel like you and Joseline will ever bounce back? It seemed like she and K.Michelle were your real friends in real life?

Joseline's gonna be Joseline all day and I’m always gonna see Joseline. We see each other, like we all have our little circle of friends so I’m guaranteed to see Joseline. I’m telling you right now that Joseline is two-faced. I would see her at a club or on the streets or at an event and she’d be like, "Karlie, da da da da," and I go up to her and say, "Hi," because I’m going to be cordial, but then I see her again and it’s another Joseline. She’s just very up and down you don’t know who you’re gonna get from day to day. And I literally mean that, from day to day.

Tommie on the other hand I haven’t [seen], she’s not in our circle of friends. Like there’s a circle of friends between me, Joseline, Mimi, Stevie, K.Michelle, and Rasheeda. I saw Rasheeda at the restaurant the other day, she and Kirk, and we talked and hugged and it's like we have a circle of friends that wanna see each other. Tommie? She’s not in our circle of friends so I don’t know if I’ll ever get to see her so I wanted to address her at the reunion. I couldn’t wait to address her a-- at the reunion.

In retrospect, do you regret dealing with Scrapp because of Tiarra and Tommie and maybe how that came across on TV?

I don’t regret anything, it is what it is and you do what you do. There was a lot [of drama,] like I said, I wanted to address Tommie, because you know of course Scrapp being a man, he kinda [instigated things]. He was like, "We was in the hotel," but no, dude, we never f--ked. We never had sex. You know a man gonna pump it. We did massages and what happened next he made it seem like we had sex but we never had sex. I didn’t have a chance to address that at the reunion with Tiarra but she said, "I believe Karlie. She didn’t have to [because] Scrapp told me they didn’t have sex." Tommie, however, is pumping it up like we did.

Have you been in touch with Scrapp since he went to prison?

I have. I spoke to him right before the reunion. I was trying to get him to do a video chat with me so that I could play it at the reunion. I sent him pictures a few days ago, he had asked me if I have any pictures and I got with his brother SAS and we went to FedEx one night late night, I picked him up and we went out to eat and we gathered all our pictures on our phones and printed it out and cut it up and sent it to him.

How is SAS doing since he was shot? Have you been in touch with him since that happened?

I spoke to him right before I spoke to you. I was gonna take him to the doctor today to try and see if he can get the bullet out of his head.

It’s still in his head?

It's still in his head. I was gonna give him a ride to the doctor because he can’t drive under those conditions. I asked if needed me to give him a ride but he said he's good.

So you’ve formed real relationships with Scrapp and SAS?

I have. Like, I’m just that type of person, when somebody's down just like I was telling Tiarra at the reunion, it's not about love. I’m not trying to have the man because now he’s in jail and I'm not gonna be a trap queen. [Laughs] It’s not about that it’s about, when you’re down and out I feel like if I can bless someone’s day by just sending them a picture or talking to them [I will,] it puts a smile on their face. You need someone when you’re in there because you can't talk to anyone. So if I can send you some pictures you know out of my phone and you’ll always remember that she was a good friend. That’s the least you could do.

Do you feel like your friendship or relationship with Scrapp ruined your potential that you and Lyfe had?

No.

Not at all?

Not at all. I do not feel that the relationship with Lyfe was ruined by Scrapp because Lyfe had already told me he wanted an open relationship. I just didn’t know the extent of how he was seeing these girls or how close he was getting to the German chick. Girls would hit me on Instagram in my DMs and show me texts between Lyfe and them. I have texts in my phone right now from girls DMing me like, "Look at what your man is doing, he's sending me messages," but I couldn’t say anything cause I have an open relationship. It's just a double standard with a man. A man is cool he can go do whatever he wanna do. A man can talk to any amount of b---hes, he likes different area codes when he’s on tour. Whatever the heck, but as soon as you even talk to another man like what? I can’t even say another man looks good in a suit and Lyfe will be like, "You think he looks good?" I’m like, "Wait! It's okay for you when we’re in a strip club and [you're] like, "Oh look at that a--," but let me say a guy looks good in a suit and he goes crazy. I hate double standards with men and women.

What went through your head when you pulled out the ring and you fell off the bench?

I didn’t plan it at all, he was pulling the ring out, I swear on everything, I had no idea he was pulling the ring out so when he pulled it out I was like, "Okay, it’s going down and then I went down!" I was so shocked that he pulled this ring out and then, of course, everything went downhill from there, from me falling to the whole relationship going downhill. The last thing I thought was he’s going to pull a ring out. If you're about to tell your dude, "I know you’re married" and "I’m seeing Scrapp," the last thing in a million years I thought he was gonna do was pull a ring out. Maybe a knife, but a ring? No. [Laughs]

Do you ever worry that living your life on reality TV and your relationships with Benzino, Joc, Lyfe, and then Scrapp, influence your professional career as an actress? That the public perception of you might hurt that?

Sometimes I do, but the good thing about acting is you get a chance to go into auditions. My auditions are good [and] I blow them away each and every time. The only problem is I have to work harder because I’m from reality television going into this acting world. So it's, "Psh, she can’t act," and then I have to say, "I’m gonna show you today that I can act my a-- off," and then when I blow them away, they're like, "Oh, s--t. Give her a call back."

I was just on Saints & Sinners this season and they just called me back for season two. They said I did a good job and so my character's definitely going to get to bring it even more now.

And you're still doing your own radio show?

Yup, I still have my radio show. I have a bunch of interviews coming up, one with Vanessa Williams, so I'm very excited about that.

Where do you and Lyfe stand today? Have you moved beyond where you were at the end of the season?

Lyfe and I at the reunion, it was just all bad. To be honest, before the reunion, we were arguing probably every single day. Every single day he would do something on social media and that would lead me to text him like, "Why are you posting this about me with you?" He posted something about Scrapp a while ago and I’m like, "Why are you talking about this? Scrapp isn’t even thinking about you." Shout-out to Scrapp, and Lyfe's just being petty.

So, now, I got your a-- and I’m gonna go do my interviews talking about you, and at the reunion it just didn’t go too well. My mouth was hot, I said so much and he said so much. It was bad, I called him a "b---h-made dude." I just felt like, you coming for me like, I’m this ho and all this bulls--t but you knew this girl was pregnant. You should have just said, "Listen, the girl that you met in my house, I don’t know if it’s mine but she’s pregnant. Like, I’m just warning you."

Did you ever figure out what Joseline had in the envelope that she was threatening to expose?

No.

Do you think she just made up that she had stuff on all of you ladies?

Could be, because from looking at the show she pretended about that whole [Promise B. Mae situation]. I talked to Mimi about that and she was like, "She lied! She was crying to me." Mimi and I had a long conversation about that like, "What the hell happened? Like girl, she was lying the whole time." So, maybe she was lying about the envelopes too.

What do you think about her saying she’s pregnant now? Do you think that’s real? Do you think it's Stevie's?

I was just looking at that, Joseline saying she’s pregnant. Maybe? It could be a few things, I mean, maybe she is pregnant because like, where you get that stomach from because she’s always into health and fitness. I mean, unless she had about five steaks. Maybe she’s trying to get Stevie back and she’s like, this is my last resort.

I need to ask you, in earlier seasons you refused to talk about your daughter Jasmine, but last season she was in a bonus scene. What changed that made you want to bring her on?

My daughter's older now, she graduated from high school, and she's in college now, so she can make decisions on her own. I felt like when she was in high school, it's very different from college. You have the kids who are watching Love and Hip Hop and they're like, "Oh my god, your mom!" In college the kids are more mature there and now she can make the decision, if she wants to be on the show or not, for herself.
