Are You Dumb? Remy Ma Snags Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the 2017 'BET Awards'
It looks like the debate of who's the best female MC is finally over, now that Remy has officially snagged the title of Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the BET Awards from rap rival Nicki Minaj.
Twelve years ago, Remy walked away with this prestigious award and has since reclaimed it once again. In a category against some very talented women- Missy Elliot, Young M.A., Cardi B, and of course, Nicki Minaj- the Love & Hip Hop star walked away with the trophy, ending Nicki's 2010-2016 winning streak. Remy has had quite a year with the success of "All the Way Up" and her diss-track "Shether" aimed directly at the Pink Print rapper. In her acceptance speech, Remy first and foremost thanks God and sends a message to women who are currently incarcerated, letting them know they have hope. She goes on to thank her Remy mafia family, including her brother, Fat Joe. You know Remy has more subs than Quiznos and in notable Bronx fashion, she delivers a few bars from her single, "Spaghetti," saying,
Y'all b---s got fat while we starved. Shots in ya a--, pads in ya bras. Y'all some liars, it ain't no facts in your songs. And yea that crown is coming back to the Bronx.
In a celebratory Instagram post, Remy sends her family love and thanks BET for making "so many people happy."
"#BET Best Female Hip-Hop Artist ??
This is for my baby, my world, my Jace
Thank you BET! Y'all just made so many people happy?#RemyMa #RemyMafia #AreYouDumb #Barz"
Congrats Remy! It only keeps going up from here!
In this Love & Hip Hop throwback clip, Remy spits a calm few reminding her family exactly how she gives it up with the bars.
