Chill, Bruh: Kanye's Taylor Swift Lyric Is NOT the Big Deal They Want You to Think It Is

Do you think TSwift trashed her Yeezys or nah?

Aspiring Creative Director for Hermes Kanye West debuted his fuccboi heaven-sent Yeezy Season 3 collection last night. Present at the fashion show-turned-listening party were Lamar Odom, Naomi Campbell, Jay Z, Olivier Rousteing, almost all of the Kardashian-Jenners and some random celebs. As models donning YS3 stood on the stage like Illuminati mannequins for hours on end, Kanye assumed his DJ duties and played his much-awaited The Life of Pablo album.

T.L.O.P. has yet to be officially released (it's coming out today), but so far, we know it incorporates a lyric thanking Blac Chyna for helping Rob Kardashian lose weight, a Ray J dis and a less-than-sunny verse about Taylor Swift: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous." It's this verse in particular that seemingly has everyone's panties in a bunch today.

Kanye claimed this morning on Twitter that he and TSwift had an hour-long phone conversation about the song, called "Famous." "She thought it was funny and gave her blessings," Kanye tweeted. Taylor's camp told Us Weekly that she "was never made aware of the actual lyric 'I made that bitch famous'" and that she warned Kanye about "releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message." The question of the day is: What really went down in Kanye and Taylor's phone conversation? We may never know.

People are pissed that Kanye, a married man, is rapping about cheating on Kim with Taylor and that he called Taylor a "bitch." News flash: Kanye's a rapper. He's always been about the shock value. This is just Kanye being Kanye.

Let's recall Ye's 2007 Rolling Stone cover with 50 Cent. Their feud generated major interest in their albums, which were ultimately released on the same day (September 11). Just a couple of weeks ago, Kanye went off on Wiz Khalifa on Twitter, ending his rant with a plug for his album. Ye and the Kardashian-Jenner krew have been promoting the album for weeks now, posting pictures from the studio and making claims about how great they all think it is.

That is to say that Kanye's TSwift lyric, though "shocking" to some, is a typical Kanye move. Just when you think he and TSwift have buried the hatchet, he goes and says something crude about her, sparking dialogue about his music, which he wants you to listen to. So far, he's been successful.

Kanye's shock value approach to art aside, rappers have been calling women "bitches" long before Mr. West opened the gates to this fuccboi utopia. The Game, 50 Cent, A$AP Rocky, the list of rappers who have rapped about sleeping with famous women and "bitches" goes on. On "The Real Slim Shady," Eminem rapped the following about Christina Aguilera:

"Shit, Christina Aguilera better switch me chairs / So I can sit next to Carson Daly and Fred Durst / And hear 'em argue over who she gave head to first / Little bitch, put me on blast on MTV/ 'Yeah, he's cute, but I think he's married to Kim, hee-hee!' / I should download her audio on MP3/And show the whole world how you gave Eminem VD."

Em actually won a Grammy for that song, which is a love tap in comparison to other verses we've heard from Slim Shady. The future might hold the same for Ye. T.L.O.P could receive awards and all sorts of accolades, making this mention of Swift a footnote in a larger conversation about where it ranks among Yeezy's full body of work. Trust us, that discussion will be in full swing as soon as the masses get their hands on T.L.O.P. Kanye almost assured us it will weeks ago when he "shockingly" said it was the greatest album of life.

So let's all relax. Don't do anything drastic like Taylor's younger brother Austin, who already shared a video of him trashing his Yeezys, bringing fuccbois all over the world to tears. No word from TSwift herself—yet. We don't know if she's keeping her Yeezys or nah, but we do know it's time to move on from this, like, yesterday. We should all just raise our hands to the skies in anticipation of receiving Yeezus' forthcoming blessings.

Remember when Kanye beefed with Wiz and told him he has cool pants? Relive that whole ordeal in the video below.
