Tommie Has a Heart to Heart With Spice About Her Issues With Alcohol

"Drinking allows me to be free and open up."

Tommie has an unexpected emotional connection with dancehall artist Spice while they link up in the studio in this Love & Hip Hop Atlanta clip.

It's no secret that Tommie is having a rough patch with her family, particularly her sister Versace, at the moment. Often times, the aspiring rapper turns to alcohol as a way to suppress the pain and disappointment caused by all of her family drama. As she and Spice get to chatting a bit more, Spice reveals that she's had a similar experience with sibling rivalry. "[Me and my brother] we don't have a really good relationship, 'cause I'm kinda disappointed in him," she explains. "My father died when I was nine years old. I really think that my brother, he should have really been the guider for us. We should have looked up to him as a big brother, but he never did that."

Spice is surprised to see Tommie's eyes well up with tears in reaction to her story. It all hits home for Tommie, even though she feels misunderstood as the oldest sibling. "I understand what you're saying, but being the oldest and everybody looking up to you...that's a really hard position." Tommie reveals that her way of coping with it all is drinking, though she doesn't consider herself an alcoholic. "Drinking allows me to be free and open up, and all of the things I'm battling with personally, I don't think about it."

Spice tries to get Tommie to realize that drinking isn't a healthy way to deal with her problems, and may be making things worse. It's time for her to consider that Tommie's problems might become an issue down the line if they continue working together. For now, she's giving her the benefit of the doubt. Will Spice and Tommie's musical collaboration be hindered by Tommie's drinking?
