Why Is Chris Pratt Scared to Run into Kim Kardashian?
In a new interview with GQ, Chris Pratt talks about his road from Parks and Recreation's lovable Andy Dwyer to one of Hollywood's biggest blockbuster stars. But it doesn't matter how many action movies he headlines (or is rumored to headline —hello, Dr. Jones), one thing scares him: Kim Kardashian.
Back on Parks and Recreation, he improvised a joke in a scene that broke all his castmates. The joke was very off-color and, as he admits, "very, very funny." But he felt bad and asked that the scene never make it to the DVD blooper reel or YouTube. Well, YouTube is exactly where it ended up (he received an apology for that) and it's since received over 2 million views.
"So it's really kind of a bummer," says Pratt. "She probably doesn't know or doesn't care, I'm sure, but I don't like to make jokes at other people's expense, if I can help it." He stops himself and reframes this rule more realistically. "I like to keep my jokes about people safely way behind their backs. I'm a s--t-talker, but if I'm gonna make a joke at someone's expense, I'll do it so that they can never hear it."
So what's the joke? Here it is. And it is decidedly unsuitable for work.
For what it's worth, Pratt and Kardashian actually worked together on a "not good" movie called Deep in the Valley back in 2009. While not a fan of the movie itself, he had nothing but nice things to say about Kardashian. "She'd never really done an acting gig before," he says. "She was so f-cking sweet, and she was nervous."
