Eminem Appeared on Public Access TV to Talk to Stephen Colbert About His "Struggling Rap Career" Because Why Not?

Stephen Colbert surprised Monroe, Michigan the other night when he hung out in a local bar with his crew.

The newly appointed host of The Late Show was in the area to film a segment called "Only In Monroe" for MPACT, Monroe's Public Access Cable Television. This entire occurrence sounds random as can be, but what was even more random was when, around the 21:55 mark in the following video of the segment, Colbert introduced a "local Michigander who is making a name for himself in the competitive world of music." It was Eminem.

The interview went pretty much how you'd expect an interview between Eminem and Steven Colbert to go down. They talked a lot about Bob Seger, the differences between political rap and "booty rhymes," and what Eminem, who is worth almost $200 million, is going to do with his supposedly flailing career before he hits 50 and it's too late.

Highlights include Steven telling Em he has "such a cute face," Em saying that "carpentry sounds like it could be good" in case rap doesn't work out, and Em admitting that he's aware he looks angry 99% of the time.

The duo finally got on the topic of Southpaw, for which Eminem has provided the song "Phenomenal." Em was eager to perform, but alas, there wasn't enough time. It was hard to tell if he was entirely in on the joke throughout the interview, but it only made it that much more entertaining.
