HAIM Rocked "The Wire" On 'Saturday Night Live'

HAIM made their Saturday Night Live debut last night and won the crowd at Studio 8H over with killer performances of "The Wire" and "Don't Save Me." Oh, and they also popped up in a 1980s music-themed sketch where host Josh Hutcherson lip synched along with Outfield and HAIM rocked out with a keytar.

HAIM is starting to solidify themselves as the queens of live performances. They tore the house down with at VH1's You Oughta Know Concert earlier this month and so it was no surprise that they performed like pros on Saturday Night Live last night.

The band's first song of the night was "The Wire" (fun trivia fact: the music video for the song features former SNL writer Jorma Taccone). Este brought a raw intensity to her vocals and Danielle completely shredded her guitar solo at the end of the song. However, it was Alana who might have stolen the show if only because she seemed to be bubbling over with exuberance throughout the entire night.

The ladies brought their nouveau Fleetwood Mac sound back to the stage later on in the night for a performance of "Don't Save Me." However, they girls also channeled the spirit of 80s synth pop when they cameoed at the end of a sketch called "Josie" which absurdly dramatized Outfield's "Your Love." The band showed up at the end of the sketch in cheesy vintage clothes and Alana bopped around with a keytar.

Saturday Night Live returns December 7 with host Paul Rudd and musical guest One Direction.
