An Old Interview of Evelyn Has Resurfaced in an Effort to Cast Doubt on Her Domestic Violence Story

It's time to put the shady rumors to bed.

Last night's episode of Basketball Wives continued with the bombshell rumor about Evelyn possibly hiding a past affair with her bestie Shaunie's ex. The vicious he-said-she-said drama drew clear battle lines between Evelyn and one of the alleged culprits in spreading the rumor, Tami. To make an already messy situation worse, Tami (in the midst of arguing) blurted out that Evelyn lied about her domestic violence incident with ex-husband Chad Johnson.

The drama playing out on TV, of course, has dredged up old feelings from five years ago. Some people online went as far as to dig up old clips of Evelyn fighting on the show in an effort to justify what happened to her. In this 2013 ABC interview, Evelyn addressed people who doubted her story because of her various fights on Basketball Wives.

To clear things up once and for all, Evelyn issued a statement to her fans on Twitter immediately after last night's episode aired. "I know my truth, my ex knows my truth and our families...that's all that matters," Ev live tweeted during the episode. "I'm sorry to both families for having to re-live this over and over again!"

Despite the pain Evelyn and Chad's incident caused on both of their children, Evelyn did receive a warm message of support from Chad's daughter Jicyra Johnson on on Instagram.

"When you left him it taught me that despite feelings, emotions and commitments... you must always maintain a true commitment to yourself. The ability to stand up, face the truth of a situation and step into the unknown by faith alone is the true definition of strength. Bravo to you for being true to you and teaching me the same... Still grateful to have you in [my] life."

Tami has yet to publicly address her comment about Evelyn, but will surely face backlash from her costars when Basketball Wives returns next Monday at 9/8c only on VH1.
