Wiz Khalifa Talks About Being Part of the 'Furious 7' Family and His Tribute to Paul Walker
Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again" has been bringing the tears thanks to its celebration of Paul Walker, who died part-way through filming Furious 7. He spoke to MTV News about how much it meant to him to be part of the franchise's farewell to its star and friend.
“I basically thought about what the movie stands for as far as family and the brotherhood, and of course, using the metaphor of the last ride and the last race because of that last scene,” Khalifa said.
The song has exploded in the wake of the film's popularity, setting Spotify records left and right. On April 13th, it had 4.2 million listeners in a single day, the streaming service's most ever, and it set a record for most streams in a single week in 26 countries. The song also has one very special cover artist: Vin Diesel.
