All the Business Ventures the Kardashians Actually Failed At

Since 2007, when Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered on E!, the Kardashian family has been on the path to world domination. Kim K is the undisputed Queen of Reality TV and her family has succeeded at nearly everything, including its 10-season (and counting) series, spin-offs, magazine covers, clothing lines, and prolific baby production. They're so big that other families are desperately trying to follow in their footsteps. But even the greatest innovators and entrepreneurs of our time have to stumble in order to achieve true greatness.

Steve Jobs. Bill Gates. Kris Jenner. All these greats have faltered on their path to prominence. From Smooch, to Khloé's ill-fated gig hosting The X Factor, this royal reality tv family has had a few missteps along the way. In honoring all their greatness, it is up to us to learn from their mistakes and never confuse 5 Seconds of Summer with One Direction.

The DASH Stores

After 12 years of DASH, the Kardashian-Jenner clan has decided to close the doors of their clothing stores. Kim announced the news on her app saying, "We’ve loved running DASH, but in the last few years we’ve all grown so much individually,” she continued. “We’ve been busy running our own brands, as well as being moms and balancing work with our families. We know in our hearts that it’s time to move on.” #NeverForget that time I went to the DASH store in high school and bought a $10 bottle of water.

Kris Jenner's Talk Show

Kris Jenner is the family matriarch you never knew you wanted, but that doesn't mean she can kill it in daytime. She basically launched the careers of an entire village but struggled to carry her own success in a talk show. Thankfully, we were left with a few ridiculous moments like the one above that we will forever cherish.

Kim's Music Career

The issue here was that they weren't playing her jam. It seems that Kim didn't ever have true musical aspirations (she'll leave that to Kanye), but oh boy is this pure gold or what? And Kris still loves to poke fun at her about it all the way to the bank.

Khloé and Lamar's Fragrance

So, technically the unisex fragrance turned out all right. It just was pretty ironic that it was named Unbreakable and they, well, you know. Forever not over this break-up.

Kim's Dancing Career

Rob had a rather successful tango when he was on Dancing with the Stars, but Kimmy was eliminated in week two. Can't knock a girl for trying, right?

Smooch

Before there was DASH there was Smooch, the children's clothing store that Kourtney and Kris operated. If you've been Keeping Up for a while, then you may remember some heated meltdowns happening in the back offices of Smooch way back in Season 1 (circa this photo). Once Kourt got pregnant with Mason (and the family had bigger fish to fry) they made the decision to close Smooch after running it for six years.

Khloé's TV Hosting Career

We absolutely adore Khloé's unapologetic style, profanities, and all around bad-assery, but a primetime network audience didn't share our enthusiasm for her. It's cool, Khloé, we still love you and your attitude any day. Just make sure to wear less sheer next time.

That "BG5" Stunt

We're still not entirely sure what the deal is here. Somewhere along the way, Kris Jenner decided to manage a girls group called BG5. Eventually Rob took over as manager but couldn't handle it, and yet another reality TV-based music group failed to ever become relevant.

Khloé's Radio Career

If at first you don't succeed, try in all major US markets, right? In Season 1 of Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, Khloé After Dark was born with cohost Terrence J. There were plenty of outlandish moments involving drugs, sex, and homophobia that she returned to in another season in the beachy city. While married to Lamar, Khloé hosted "The Mix Up With Khloé Kardashian Odom" in Dallas and even co-hosted a bathtub podcast with Scott when the fam was in the Hamptons.

Kourtney's Acting Career

Kourtney graduated college with a theater degree, but the path ended with an appearance as Kassandra Kavanaugh on One Life to Live. A real gem that should have certainly led to a starring role.

Kendall's Award Presenter Career

It's OK, Kendall totally admitted that she's "the worst reader" when she mixed up One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer. The secondhand embarrassment will never leave after you watch this clip.

Khloe's Talk Show Kocktails with Khloe

Despite impressive ratings, Khloe announced in April 2016 that her FYI talk show is coming to an end. After 14 episodes. And this came after FYI ordered an additional 15 episodes in February. RadarOnline reported in February Khloe wasn't happy with the outcome of the show and that her team was struggling to find guests. Perhaps that's the reason it folded so soon?
