Gerardo Mejia Still Has The Moves From His “Rico Suave” Days

Gerardo Mejia, known for his 1991 hit “Rico Suave,” is back in the spotlight with his new VH1 reality show, Suave Says. Before tomorrow night’s premiere, Mejia stopped by Big Morning Buzz Live to give fans insight into his domestic life.

Mejia popped and locked as he came on stage, showing he’s still got the dance moves that wowed fans in the early `90s. But Mejia’s been largely working behind the scenes since hitting it big, becoming a successful music executive. He even helped Nick Lachey land a hit single!

Meija’s also been tackling fatherhood. In the clip above, he describes how his daughter Nadia wants to follow Miley Cyrus’ route to pop stardom, while he favors Taylor Swift’s image. “[Nadia's] the reason why I wear this hat, my brother,” said Mejia. “She has made every hair fall out!”
