These Songs Are So Catchy, You Probably Didn't Realize That The Lyrics Are Really Creepy
In the summer of '07, I was a nanny to my baby cousin. I listened to T-Pain's "Buy U A Drank" so much that, to my dismay (but not T-Pain's) my cousin had picked up the words to the chorus by the end of the summer.
You know a song's good —or at least its melody is— when you're willing to overlook the lyrics. Even the creepy ones. You'll be singing along to the first verse, hit that chorus, and sing over the part about putting drugs in someone's drink because, hey, the song is catchy as hell. Never mind that it's about stalking someone in a club. The melody suggests otherwise!
I'm right there with you. The following are songs from the past decade we all agreed were so catchy, we'd just overlook how creepy the lyrics really were. Because Robyn's "Dancing On My Own" is just that good.
