See How Aquaria Created the Bedazzled Gag of Rhinestones Over Her Eyes for the Glitter Runway
Aquaria continues to slay the runway on season ten of RuPaul's Drag Race with lewk, after lewk, after lewk. Last week on the Glitter Runway, the New York queen brought the house down with her stunning eye makeup that it turns out was some bedazzled mesh.
In a bonus clip from RuPaul's Drag Race, Aquaria tells Eureka about the inspiration behind her now-iconic eyes and we get an up close and personal look into how she pulled off the gag goop. Aquaria took nude mesh out of a catsuit and constructed a set of glittery eyes to go over her IRL eyes, a.k.a. "a giant lace-front," or "lace-front eyeballs."
Aquaria goes in further, saying that she wanted her eyes to look like, "the little dwarfs from Snow White when they have the crystals in their eyes."
The lewk-queen went on to craft a sheer veil that she then rhinestoned to give the illusion that her eyes were made of, in fact, rhinestones. She theorizes that no one has ever walked the catwalk with something covering their entire eyes, and she may be right about that. Did Aquaria's eye gag just make Drag Race her-story?
