Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas talk to VH1 Music about “Creep." The song became the group's first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 where it remained for four weeks, winning the girls their first Grammy award.
"'Creep' was actually a personal story of mine," Watkins reveals in our conversation about the song. Having known Dallas Austin since the two were teenagers, the producer "knew a lot of stories" about the singer. What exactly happened with Watkins and this man remains a mystery but fans can now dissect the song even further knowing there's a real life story behind it.
As for the music video, Thomas says the group filmed it three times.
"It didn't feel like we had evolved," Thomas explains. TLC wanted to show a new, more mature side, which included a peak at Watkins underboob. Oops!
