N.E.R.D. Released a New Song With Rihanna, But It’s Not the Rihanna You Expect
If you thought Rihanna didn't have vocal power and bars, think again. N.E.R.D. (comprised of Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Hayley ) are back on the scene with their new single "Lemon" and this time they've recruited Bad Gal Riri and all her star power for a N.E.R.D return long overdue.
The multi-talented pop star is prominently featured on the group's first single in three years, which premiered today on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show. Instead of delivering the raspy/sultry vocals we all know and love, Rihanna chose to flex her rap skills instead. And you know what...we're not mad at it!
Over the high energy beat, she raps:
I get it how I live it
I live it how I get
Count the mothaf-ckin' digits
I pull up with a lemon
Not 'cause she ain't livin'
It's just your eyes get acidic
This isn't Rih's first time dabbling in rap. She also spit some impressive verses on Kendrick Lamar's "Loyalty" and her hard-hitting single "B*tch Better Have My Money."
N.E.R.D is set to headline Complexcon in Los Angeles this weekend, alongside Gucci Mane and Young Thug. Meanwhile, fans are waiting with bated breath for deets on their new album.
