The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and everyone you know is getting married. Soon, you'll be asked to scrounge up money for a gift from Crate & Barrel and, if you're a woman, someone's probably going to ask you to be her bridesmaid. The thing is that not even celebrities are immune to this curse. Jennifer Lawrence and Keira Knightley are just a few of the glamorous goddesses of Hollywood who have put on a monochrome cocktail dress to play the part of "just another bridesmaid."

Sure, it's sometimes a tremendous honor to be a celebrity bridesmaid. Pippa Middleton shot to international superstardom when she was asked to be sister Kate's Maid of Honor for her marriage to Prince William. However, as any former bridesmaid will attest, it's not always so fabulous.

Keira Knightley put on an uncharacteristically plain plum satin dress (and equally uncharacteristic smile) to be a bridesmaid for her brother Caleb's wedding in 2011. And Jennifer Lawrence almost got lost on the cover of Martha Stewart Weddings last month. J. Law was just one of almost a dozen girls wearing a cream J. Crew dress in support of her sister-in-law's big day.

Why do these celebs deign to take the supporting role? Why do any of us? Because as much as a headache as being a bridesmaid is, it's totally worth it to see the people you love declare their love.
