Classic Nickelodeon Skits That Remind Us Why We Love Amanda Bynes
Amanda Bynes' tough times reached a frightening climax last week. The gifted comedic actress and former fashion student was admitted to the Pasadena hospital on October 10 and placed in a 5150 psychiatric hold for 72 hours. Bynes was also put in a 5150 hold in 2013 after a string of similar erratic events. We hope she gets the help she needs. Frankly, the comedy world needs her again, as evidenced by her legendary Nickelodeon skits from All That and The Amanda Show.
Bynes knows how to deliver a punchline. Major qualities that separate Bynes from the pack of squeaky-clean tweens she grew up with are her natural camera presence, wicked sense of humor, and penchant for hitting us where it tickles: the funny bone. From her ensemble role on All That to headlining (where she rightfully should be) run on The Amanda Show at age 13, Bynes' zeal for making us laugh — with good material and at such a young age — is unprecedented.
While Bynes is focusing on getting on the right track, let's keep it positive. We've assembled 10 of her greatest Nickelodeon moments for your viewing pleasure. Grab a hold of your gut, click through these videos, and remember why you fell in love with Bynes in the first place: She is one talented girl.
1. "I Luv Lucy," All That
One of her earliest All That appearances, "I Luv Lucy" shows off Bynes' knack for impressions.
2. "The Dare Show," The Amanda Show
Bynes is the queen of slapstick, and "The Dare Show" — also starring Drake Bell — proves it.
3. "When...Attack," The Amanda Show
The ridiculous "When...Attack" sketch shows Bynes' deadpan and sarcasm skills. Check out what happens when — dun, dun, dun! — cheerleaders attack in the video above.

4. "Mr. Oldman," The Amanda Show
Bynes plays a pesky teenager who plagues a loud-mouth elderly man with a string of prank phone calls. It's pretty funny, but you can't help but feel for the old man. All he wanted was $1 million!
5. "Blockblister," The Amanda Show
Perhaps if Blockbuster was ran like this, it would still be in business.
6. "Penelope Taynt," The Amanda Show
Penelope — Amanda's No.1 fan, please! — is one of the show's funniest characters. This glasses-wearing, plaid-rocking super-fan will do just about anything to meet Bynes. Can't say we blame her.
7. "Ask Ashley," All That
"Ask Ashley" is really just a metaphor for not putting up with people's basic behavior. We're right there with you, Ash.
8. "Moody's Point," The Amanda Show
The hyper-dramatic parody of Dawson's Creek is all kinds of iconic. From Moody's father's missing toe to Misty's frequent, "You're so hurtful!" wail, this 10-minute saga really captures our tortured teenage souls.
9. "Judge Trudy," The Amanda Show
Judge Judy doesn't have anything on this pint-sized, gavel-wielding goddess with a tendency of putting adults in their place. Trudy doesn't play any games.
10. "The Girls' Room," The Amanda Show
Bynes plays vapid queen bee Amber in this sketch about four girls who host a talk show from their school bathroom. Just remember not to get Shelia pissed off, or you're headed straight to the toilet. Literally.
