Elisabeth Moss is best known for her work on AMC's Mad Men, as secretary-turned-copywriter Peggy Olson. But let's not forget her breakout role as the president's daughter on The West Wing. It's been 15 years since we were introduced to Zoey Bartlet, the youngest child of Martin Sheen's fictional POTUS, portrayed by a then-17-year-old Moss.We're still months away from the final season of Mad Men, and while you can get your Moss fix by watching this summer's The One I Love or her Golden Globe-winning role in Top of the Lake on Netflix, we prefer to go back in time. Moss played the president's daughter over the course of 25 episodes, from 1999 to 2006. Her on-screen romance with her father's aide Charlie Young (Dule Hill) was one of the sweetest storylines, but also led to tense dramatic plots like the shooting of President Bartlet and Deputy Chief of Staff Josh Lyman (Bradley Whitford) by white supremacists. The two survived, by sadly Zoey and Charlie's relationship didn't. Never forget how Zoey returned in the fourth season dating a rich French guy named Jean-Paul Pierre Claude Charpentier Vicomte de Condé de Bourbon (Trent Ford). (And how he — spoiler — unknowingly plays a part in Zoey's kidnapping).

In celebration of 15 years since the premiere of one of the greatest political shows to ever air, let's look back on the first pivotal moment for Zoey, that spurred one of the most touching storylines on the show.
