Christopher 'Big Black' Boykin, known as Rob Dyrdek's BFF from the hit MTV show Rob & Big has passed away at age 45. No official cause of death has been confirmed yet, but those connected to Chris tell TMZ they suspect it was a heart attack.
Christopher was Rob Dyrdek’s fun loving best friend and bodyguard on their popular reality TV show which ran from 2006-2008. He also appeared on Dyrdek’s show Fantasy Factory. Before heading into the entertainment industry, Boykin served in the U.S. Navy.
During the run of the shows, Rob and Big got into a bunch of adventures in Dyrdek’s “playhouse,” also known as the factory. However, Dyredek and Boykin’s relationship reportedly became strained during the show’s run, and Dyrdek spoke openly about it on In Depth with Graham Bensinger in 2016. The two friends appeared to have patched things up, however, judging from an throwback Instagram photo Chris shared recently.
Christopher is survived by his 9-year-old daughter.
