See How Ceaser's Relationship With His Daughter Cheyenne Has Changed Since Season One

Time really does heal all wounds.

When we first met Ceaser, he was this young, hustle-hungry brother just trying to make it out hood, one tattoo at a time. Back then, he didn't have his life all the way together --- even he would argue that he still doesn't --- but Cease has come a long way from where he started out seven seasons ago. Take his relationship with his daughter Cheyenne for example.

On the recent episode of Black Ink Crew, Cease cleaned up nice to take his princess to prom. It was beautiful.

But it always wasn't like that. During season one, we met Cease's ex, Crystal, for the first time but under not-so-pleasant circumstances. After being given continuous extensions to pay $2,500 for child support, Ceaser was faced with the possibility of jail time. Jordans are dope but at the time it wasn't enough and Ceasers's anger with Crystal taking legal action stunted their ability to co-parent.

Shortly after that meetup, the tattoo artist formerly known as David Emmanuel was bamboozled and served for back child support pay. Although Cheyenne "stayed fresh," Polo just didn't cut it and Ceaser found himself fighting the system. Things with Crystal obviously didn't work out, but Cheyenne being his daughter alone saved his life. Fearful that he would lose everything he's worked so hard to achieve, Ceaser found himself at yet another hurdle where he had no idea how to leap over.

After showing up to his court hearing, Ceaser learned that he had 1 month to pay back the money or face 6 months locked up.

It turns out that all of the payments he was making to Crystal was being held and technically, she really didn't receive a dime. Y'all remember DutchessTed stepped in to try to see where Crystal's head was at and to make sense of the whole situation. Ceaser was unable to see Cheyenne because every time Crystal tried to talk to him, he couldn't be cordial according to her. The relationship with Dutchess definitely had a big impact and the Black Ink Hennessy-filled parties didn't help. Unable to reach any solution with Cheyenne, Ted decided that it was just better to mind his business.

Fast-forward to season six, Ceaser decided it was time to mend things with Crystal now that he's bossed up and ready to wholly be there as a father.

He swallows his pride to say "I'm sorry, Crystal," and even follows through on his promise to be there for Cheyenne. He learns the hard way that parenting is no walk in the park when he learns his beautiful daughter is being bullied because of her weight.

So worked even harder to make her feel like the queen she is. It went well for a while.

But sadly, the chaos of opening a new shop in New Orleans made Ceaser forget his biggest priority. Cheyenne isn't that young girl we met during the show's sophomore year. After putting her father in his place, forcing him to take accountability, Cease steps up once more, giving Cheyenne the most amazing prom experience. He even went one step further and purchased this blinged out chain with Cheyenne's picture in it so wherever he's at, she'll be there too.

There is no rule book on being the perfect parent, but major salute to Ceaser for putting in that effort.
