'VH1 Top 20 Countdown' Returns As 'The 20' with New Host Shannon Coffey
VH1's Top 20 Countdown is getting a new name and a new host. Top 20 Countdown will return this Saturday, May 2, as The 20, and YouTube personality Shannon Coffey will be its leading lady. You might recognize Coffey from her "Random Ass Girly Channel" on YouTube, but if you don't already, get to know the actress, writer, and comedienne as she makes her debut on VH1's channel this weekend.

New York, NY, April 20, 2015 – VH1’s longtime staple “Top 20 Countdown” is back with a new host and a fresh spin with the season premiere of “The 20” on Saturday, May 2 at 9AM ET/PT. YouTube sensation Shannon Coffey brings her comedic wit to VH1 as the new host for the weekly two-hour program counting down the most popular videos of the week. This fan-tailored playlist will also include unique interviews alongside interactive segments that will engage viewers on a variety of media platforms. “The 20” Premieres Saturday, May 2 at 9AM ET/PT.
Shannon Coffey, an actress, writer and comedian, will bring her signature charm and clever humor as she welcomes musical and celebrity guests to the show’s new set in the center of New York City. After being listed on TVLine’s “What to Watch: 5 Web Series Worth Checking Out,” hosting the daily web series “The Hey Hey Show” and acquiring nearly 100 thousand YouTube followers over 3 channels, Shannon is ready to bring her quick wit and charm to VH1’s “The 20.” Raised in Puerto Rico, Shannon moved to New York to follow her dream and has since been a part of the Upright Citizens Brigade and has acted and written for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
“The 20” combines music videos, live performances, and unique interviews all hosted by a new creative talent. It’s the classic countdown you know and love, refreshed and remixed in a newly digestible form to take the content beyond the television screen and into the shareable media world. Additionally, Shannon will be infusing commentary and comedy into the program with tongue-and-cheek reviews of music videos, “Remember When” moments, taking a look into memorable musical moments of the past and “Texterviews” with celebrity guests.
