Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, The Breeders Lead An Eclectic Lineup At The 2013 Hangout Music Fest

Anyone who has ever attended a music festival — be that Coachella, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Glastonbury, what-have-you — knows that there are few things better in life than spending an entire weekend surrounded by great friends (both old and new!) and even better music. What could possibly make a weekend like this any better? How about spending it ON A BEACH? Ladies and gentleman, we present to you the 2013 Hangout Music Festival, which will takes place this May on the "sugar-white sand beaches" of Gulf Shores, Alabama!

This year's fest, which will be broadcast across VH1, MTV, CMT and LOGO, features one of the more eclectic festival lineups we've seen in some time. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Kings of Leon and a surprise TBA act are set to headline, and will also feature performances by a reunited The Breeders, You Oughta Know alumni Delta Rae and Lissie, and many more. Scheduled for May 17, 18 and 19, 2013, on the sugar-white sand beaches of Gulf Shores, Alabama, the festival will feature headliners Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Kings of Leon (third headliner to be announced shortly). Confirmed artists to perform also include Trey Anastasio Band, The Shins, BASSNECTAR, Kendrick Lamar, The Black Crowes, Slightly Stoopid, The Roots, Ellie Goulding, Steve Aoki, Passion Pit, Bloc Party, Gov’t Mule, Jim James Band, Porter Robinson, Public Enemy, moe., Galactic, Dirty Projectors, Grouplove, Toots and the Maytals, Lissie, The Breeders, Best Coast, Jason Isbell & 400 Unit, Twin Sister, Ryan Bingham, The Sheepdogs, Shovels and Rope, Moon Taxi, The Revivalists, Zion I, Lance Herbstrong, Anders Osborne, Twenty ? General Admission tickets, plus VIP, Super VIP and Big Kahuna festival passes, will go on sale beginning on Friday, February 15 at 11:00 AM ET at www.hangoutmusicfest.com/tickets. Fans should act quickly, as the festival is expected to sell out of all tickets at all price levels. Daily tickets will not be available, and tickets will not be available at the door. The limited number of “Early Bird” tickets and passes sold out within five minutes of going on sale in December, and last year’s Fest sold out of all general admission tickets in less than two weeks after going on sale.

Additionally, the festival has signed a multi-year deal with MTV, VH1, CMT and Logo as exclusive partners. Hangout Music Fest will be showcased across their various television channels and digital properties. More information will be announced prior to the festival.

Once again, Hangout will offer even more room for amenities and the comfort of fans by capping capacity at last year’s limit of 35,000 attendees per day. The festival’s music performances will take place across five stages — including two located just steps from the Gulf of Mexico. All fans will enjoy access to extraordinary amenities including: the comfortably shaded relaxation area, Hammock Beach; the Sky Bar tower, which offers 360-degree views of the festival; a plethora of amusement rides and games; varied dining options, including favorites like grouper, snapper, tuna, crab, shrimp and oysters in the fresh Alabama Gulf Seafood area; water stations with free refills for all guests; and much more.

ABOUT THE HANGOUT MUSIC FEST:

The inaugural Hangout Music Fest was launched on May 14-16, 2010, and featured performances from Trey Anastasio, The Zac Brown Band, John Legend, The Roots, Ben Harper and Relentless7, The Black Crowes, Alison Kraus and Union Station, and more. The second Fest, which hosted a crowd of 35,000 concertgoers per day, took place on May 20–22, 2011, with performances from Foo Fighters, Paul Simon, The Flaming Lips, Cee-Lo Green and The Black Keys, among many others. The 2011 event was estimated to have generated approximately $30 million for the Gulf Shores area economy, and was later awarded “Music Festival of the Year” honors at the 23rd Pollstar Concert Industry Awards. The third annual edition occurred on May 17-19, 2012, and featured a diverse lineup including Jack White, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Matthews Band, Skrillex, The String Cheese Incident, The Flaming Lips and many more. The 2012 Hangout Music Fest was the festival’s fastest sell-out to date.
