Don't take that voice away from us!

He is is Lily Allen's third cousin.

By default, he's also related to Lily's brother Alfie, who works on a little show called Game of Thrones.

He used to scrub toilets for work.

Smith used to work in a bar scrubbing toilets, telling NPR, “I remind myself of that every day, at the moment, because I don’t want to take anything for granted.”

He actually liked the Lost series finale.

"I loved it, loved it. True Lost fans like it," Smith told Rolling Stone.

He's BFFs with Rihanna

"I f-cking love Rihanna," Smith also told Rolling Stone. "She came to my show in L.A. She speaks to me all the time. For someone that famous, she's really real. Love her." Check out this adorable photo of them at this year's Grammy Awards.

He got his Mom fired.

Allegedly! Apparently Sam's mother was let go from her high-paying job at a major UK bank because she was spending too much of her time and energy working on her son's singing career. As if being a supportive mom's a bad thing...?

He has OCD.

And he's very open about about his struggles, which include repeatedly checking sink faucets to ensure his house doesn't flood. "I have really tough days," he tells People. "But I'm trying to get over it and really enjoy myself and live in the moment a bit more and make memories that can last forever."

He is a Beyonce superfan.

Just listen to this *flawless* version of "Drunk In Love" sung in the shower. He also has unparalleled diva knowledge.

He really had never been in a relationship before.

That whole lonely thing wasn't an act. Prior to superstardom, his love-live was almost non existent. Apparently he kept falling for people who didn't like him back (frown face).

He's double-jointed.

The "Lay Me Down" singer told Us Weekly he has double-jointed index fingers. Is that how he was able to hold all those Grammys?

He thinks ghosts are real.

Another interesting tidbit he dished to Us Weekly. Spooky. The above concert fog is actually Casper.

He has some amazing tattoos.

His most recent ink is an anchor in honor of his fans, who he calls "little sailors." But Smith also has tattoos of an ice cream cone and a plane on his bod.

His favorite TV show is Modern Family.

And he adores Cam Tucker (Eric Stonestreet), as do we all.

He's a classically trained jazz singer.

Sure, Sam's super talented. But he also put in the werk, b-tch! The singer put in some hardcore jazz training since age 8, including time with vocal coach, Joanna Eden.

He's more into female vocalists than male.

“All I know is, female voices truly make me feel," he told The Boston Globe. "Male voices just don’t hit that spot.” Madonna over Mick Jagger any day, we guess.
