Bobby Lytes on How "Growing Up With Nothing" Turned Him to Music in This 'Love & Hip Hop Miami' Exclusive

"Stay tuned honey because this isn't just reality TV, this is entertainment at it's finest."

We all have backgrounds that inform who we become and what we aspire to do. For Love & Hip Hop Miami's Bobby Lytes, he says that growing up poor has pushed him to be strong, brave and to love music.

The 26-year-old Miami native says that people make assumptions about him and his sexuality and that people would be surprised to know that he grew up in rough neighborhoods in Dade County Miami. But it was "growing up with nothing" that led Bobby to use music as therapy and get him through his struggles. One specific assumption about him that's tired of? That somehow, because of his sexuality, he can't make music. Bobby is here to change that perception about himself, "I can rap. I got bars. I got skills." It looks like we can expect to see Bobby using music this season to not only change how people see him, but also his hometown.

Don't miss the premiere of Love & Hip Hop Miami on January 1st at 9/8c.
