After Opening Up About His Depression and Suicidal Thoughts on 'Black Ink Crew: Chicago', Phor Goes Missing

Phor has been vocal on social media about his battle with depression, but this week on Black Ink Crew: Chicago, things became serious when he began to express thoughts of suicide to Charmaine, Van, and Ryan.

In the emotional scene, Charmaine struggles to figure out what to say to her friend as he tells her "I'm just feeling better off dead." Charmaine thought that maybe some of Phor's social media posts about suicide and depression were just promotion for his song "Help," but it's clear that it isn't the case.

Ryan asks to speak to Phor alone and, visibly upset, tells him, "This sh-t may be hard, but you ain't gotta do it on your own!" He tells him, "I love you. You're the sh-t. You're worth something! You're valuable. I tell my kids every goddamn day, you're successful. Go be more successful!" He tells him that he accepted him as his brother a long time ago and that he takes his role in his life seriously.

Then Van and Charmaine have a very tough conversation with Phor about getting professional help. They know that he needs to speak with a professional, but Phor just wants to sleep on it.

When Phor goes missing the next morning, the crew is understandably concerned for him. As producers scramble to find him, Van and Charmaine call and text him to try to get in touch with him.

Eventually he finally answers, asking for Van to come to him alone, without cameras. On a call with producers, Van explains that he's going with Phor to Atlanta to be with his family, and that Phor made it clear that "the one key thing he said is: I want to f-cking live."
