Trixie Isn't Sure if Her Offstage Persona Comes Off as Stank in This 'RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars' Highlight
Trixie Mattel is totally aware that she's not exactly a social butterfly behind the scenes, but she feels some of her fellow queens in the industry have taken it the wrong way.
As the remaining RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars girls reflect on their Kitty Girl's maxi challenge, Trixie is reminded of a note she received from one of the guest judges about her demeanor. “Were you bothered when Adam [Lambert] said that you were standoffish?” Morgan asks Trixie as they all get glammed up. It's not a critique she hasn't heard before, but Trixie swears her backstage persona is misinterpreted. "I might accidentally sometimes come off as standoffish. I mean, Trixie on stage is fun and bubbly, but me in real life, a lot of the time, I'm just a boring white dude who doesn't like hugs. So, I get how that can read. It's something I've always wanted to change about myself."
Morgan is all for the self-reflection, but she thinks there's a realization Trixie needs to come to. She's aware of the stories from local queens and fans about how they felt they were treated by Trixie and offers this, "If she thinks she's not a little grand, she's fooling herself."
Hmm...does Trixie need to eat a slice of humble pie or is everyone just bent out of shape? Don't miss RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, Thursday at 8/7c.
