Let Mariah Carey, Diana Ross, and More School You on the Meaning of "Diva"
Take notes.
"Diva" is a loose term used to celebrate female artists and the impact they have. It can be used to glorify the empowerment and talents of women, or to evoke self-confidence in younger female generations. It's a title used throughout the history of pop music, and to be anointed a Diva is a huge accolade.
The term does have its misconceptions though. Some use the word to describe artists who are very temperamental, difficult to please, or hard to work with. So, what does it mean to truly be a Diva? Well let actual iconic Divas explain. Watch above as Mariah Carey, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin and more school you in Diva-101.
