Woman Who Accused Usher of Giving Her Herpes Drops $20 Million Lawsuit

R&B crooner Usher scored a major victory in the ongoing $20 million lawsuit accusing him of giving a Georgia woman a sexually transmitted disease.
According to TMZ, legal reps initially hired to defend Laura Helm, the woman claiming Usher gave her herpes, withdrew from the case. Helm's new attorney immediately filed to have the case against Usher dismissed.
While this may be good news for Usher, the case was reportedly "dismissed without prejudice with intention to refile."
Helm, who originally filed a lawsuit against Usher under the alias Jane Doe, claimed that she had unprotected sex with the singer and was subsequently transmitted herpes. TMZ.com claims that a recorded phone call captured Helm telling someone that she only had protected sex with the singer.
Usher's lawyer, Steve Sadow, reportedly said, "It's our sincere hope that this dismissal will bring an end to the opportunistic litigation against Usher in Georgia," in an official statement to People.
