Shakira and Rihanna's buzzed about duet, "Can't Remember To Forget You," drops today. To prep for what we can only imagine will be a sexy track highly likely to make the dreary winter a lot hotter, we're looking back at some of Shakira's greatest collaborations.
Rihanna has worked with everyone from Coldplay to Eminem, while Shakira (Shakira) has been a little more discriminatory over the years. But with an infant at home and a gig at NBC's The Voice, she's certainly kept busy. Her first solo offering since 2010's Sale el Sol beings with a RiRi collaboration the Colombian queen could only describe as "utopia." So put on your dancing shoes, grab a Spanish-English dictionary and summon those truthful hips. It's time to get down.
"La Tortura" featuring Alejandro Sanz (Fijación Oral, Volumen 1, 2005)
This man may have the sexiest voz in the biz and the audible strain (it's not called "The Torture" for nothing) in his voice just makes us want to sing along more, if only to somewhat understand what he's going through.
"Hips Don't Lie" featuring Wyclef Jean (Oral Fixation, Vol. 2, 2005)
What does it mean to have lying hips? And what would one's hips be lying about? The song doesn't set out to explain its slightly confounding title, but rather get you up, out of your seat and onto the dance floor. Wyclef is appreciated for his encouraging directions and saying what we all feel about a different language.
"Illegal" featuring Carlos Santana (Oral Fixation, Vol. 2, 2005)
The pained musings of a woman scorned, punctuated by the legend's iconic guitar groove.
"Beautiful Liar" featuring Beyoncé (B'Day Deluxe Edition, 2006)
A sexy ode to the men we know we can't trust. Shakira more than holds her own vocally during the call-and-response format, her unique sound becoming even fresher when juxtaposed with Beyoncé's refined diva groves.
"Rabiosa" featuring Pitbull (Sale el Sol, 2010)
It's been scientifically proven that Mr. 305 cannot not make a hit.
