Colin Kaepernick Honors His Mom With a Sweet Speech at 'Dear Mama' That’ll Warm Cold Hearts Everywhere

"I've realized there's a huge difference between a biological mother and the woman that mothered me."

Colin Kaepernick may have been at Dear Mama: A Love Letter to Moms to honor his mother Teresa, but he was met with a standing ovation as he walked across the stage to tell a few stories about growing up adopted and all of the ways that his family has supported him over the years.

Not only was Teresa Kaepernick a working mother (which is hard enough as it is) she was working night shifts so that she could be there for her children when they left for school in the morning and to pick them up in the afternoon. She always supported Colin's dreams, even though he says that he's not fully convinced she really even understood the game of football.

But we all know that a sign of a good mama is that they support their kids no matter what, and if that's the yard stick we're using to measure Teresa's success as a mother, she's clearly one of the best. After Colin's heartwarming speech, Teresa expressed how proud she is of her son, saying "When you see injustice in this world, you are not the kind of man who sits back and hopes that someone else will deal with it even though it may mean sacrificing your dreams."
